Here we are, well into the new year. On Feb. 5, the Chinese Year of the Pig begins. Pig symbolizes good fortune and luck, so we at least have that. Change is in the air. Hope remains, clinging tattered on the clothesline. Earth is hurting. All the animals, including the human animals, are challenged by climate change. Music continues to soothe the soul, it may be our best bet to help us through these dark times. And don't forget to dance! A jig and a spring in your step will keep you sane.
2018 - Again we have a new year, a new year for continued hope, a new year for gratitude.
Let us all be patient, positive and strong as we bring love and compassion into our communities and the world. Taxes are done and I am cleaning up the paperwork debris! And most importantly, heading back to the art studio!
Where did the first three months of 2016 go? So I am not going to spend too much time on this blog, but just to let you all know, I am trying some new things. I will be making my own stamps to do some printmaking. Also, I will be doing various art projects using multimedia, stay tuned! Snap happy - I will be posting lovely pictures from Ireland, low tide in Pacifica, Sierras and more.
Please stop by the Sanchez Art Center, 1220 Linda Mar Blvd. in Pacifica and see my painting "Signs of a Wet Winter" in the East Wing. Gallery is open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 1 to 5pm. Opening reception is Oct. 17 from 7 to 9pm.
I will be showing my art south of the tunnel at 1198 Acacia St. in Montara for the Colony of Coastside Artists' Open Studios. Please stop by. More info later. See the participating artists at www.colonyofcoastsideartists.com.
